Sandra KaminskiWhen we think of Christmas colours our minds generally converge towards traditional red and green. However, there is an abundance of other colours that are worthy of consideration. Here I played with apricots and soft golds, along with the much more dramatic auburns and coppers - these tones are quite popular at the moment when it comes to decorating.
The beautiful soft gold cloth was made especially for my shoots. Let's talk about the gold chocolate coins for a moment…not sure about your mum, but every year without fail my mother would include these delightfully packaged treats in our Christmas stocking. The best ones were when we lived in Holland, they were made by local chocolatiers and tasted exquisite! The coins in my image are from Fortnum and Mason. Over time I’ve collected these divine little Dior drawstring bags via online beauty purchases. They are simply perfect to house these confections. The coins also make for a lovely touch at place settings - popped sweetly on a napkin they are a wonderful surprise for your guest, young or old. The crackers are subtle yet they blend elegantly with the overall look. Naturally, as one would expect, the flowers take centre stage with this beautiful selection of roses. Amongst these beauties are spray roses, David Austin, and the delightfully elegant couture-looking rose. My Feverfew herb from the garden was the perfect finishing touch.
The auburn roses blended with the Stock look quite painterly and picturesque. I particularly like the velvet ribbon and copper gift wrap. My Sandra Kaminski stickers and cards also blend beautifully with this colour palette. It’s all so inviting! All that is needed is a cinnamon stick tucked into each…or perhaps these cute mini French Country decorations.
Why not try something a little different this year. Have fun creating your perfect Christmas.
